Garmin Forerunner 230 My Review

I've now got a couple of months of running on this watch and I like it a lot. Very light weight and the battery life is very good (only down to 85% after a two hour, 13 mile run). The GPS locks very quickly compared to my old Forerunner 10. One thing I have noticed lacking in the reviews is that the 230 does calculate cadence, which is huge for runners to insure they aren't overstriding. Even in the questions section there is some confusion over this capability.

I bought this with the heart monitor, since the reviews on the Forerunner 235 with heart the rate monitor said that it wasn't very accurate for Interval training (but good for steady pace running). I've been happy with this combo, since the chest strap doesn't bother me. I do know runners that refuse to run with a chest strap because they find it uncomfortable.I have not had this issue, even on 15 mile runs. No problems with chaffing either.

It also bluetooths to your phone so if you get a text, it will appear on your watch. I didn't think too much about this capability when I bought the watch but it has turned out to be a nice feature.
